The biggest and best cycle race in Yorkshire!
Come and join us
On Friday 4 May 2018, we'll be playing host to the biggest and best cycle race in Yorkshire.
The second leg of the fourth edition of this fantastic race will see both the men’s Tour de Yorkshire and the ASDA Women’s Tour de Yorkshire start outside the historical town hall, before heading through the borough and out towards neighbouring Rotherham.
Starting in Barnsley town centre, the riders will make their way through the borough, passing some of our best known visitor attractions including Cooper Gallery, Worsbrough Mill and Elsecar Heritage Centre.
The Barnsley section of the race has one classified climb ‘Côte de Blacker Hill’, which will challenge riders to a steep incline and sharp bends as they ascend towards Hoyland.
We want as many people to get involved and enjoy the race as possible.
We’ll be promoting community activities through our ‘In Gear’ arts project, and if you’re planning your own events or activities, let us know.
For more information, or an ‘In Gear’ toolkit, just email firstname.lastname@example.org
