Snap up original art by renowned Yorkshire artists at the Cooper Gallery art auction

The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley is offering art lovers across Yorkshire the chance to take home unique artworks by renowned local artists at its auction on Friday, 24 October.

Art fans could bid for sculpture by Graham Ibbeson, whose bronze works stand tall in cities across Britain; paintings by Michael Atkin, whose work takes pride of place in the V&A Museum’s collection; linocuts from Mandy Payne, nominee for the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize 2014; or renowned landscape watercolours by renowned Yorkshire artist Ashley Jackson.

The auction will sell works by thirty artists ranging from photography and wood sculpture to etchings and stained glass.

The charity auction will raise vital funds to support the gallery’s Cooper 100 Appeal, a fundraising campaign to transform the gallery and conserve its paintings.

All artworks will be viewable before the auction event at The Cooper Gallery from 11 to 24 October.
